Awesome Family Weekend

Our family had quite a fun Memorial Day Weekend!!! It all started Friday Night when Danielle decided we should have "Family Night" and not do the lawn, laundry or anything but spend time together. So since she asked...we said "Great Idea." The kids had gift cards to Dave & Busters that they had gotten as gifts at Christmas time...yes we have been a little busy...we expected a large crowd since it was race weekend but much to our delight - we had the place pretty much to ourselves...maybe because we were out earlier in the evening??? We played lots of games and even squeezed in a little shopping - a very fun night.

On Saturday we were guests of Motorola and Verizon at the Nationwide Series Race. Danielle and Joseph had never been to a race before and this was certainly a great experience for them!!! Motorola SURE knows how to treat their guests!!! They served both breakfast and lunch in the suite as well as other types of goodies all day. They gave everyone beach bags with HUGE Motorola/Verizon towels in them...and most importantly they made the kids feel so, so special. The Verizon Driver, Justin Allgaier, came to the suite for a Q&A and he signed lots of autographs.

Another really cool thing was that we got there in enough time to watch the practice rides for the Coca-Cola 600 that would taking place the next day. Most of the drivers were there for that as well and the kids loved taking pictures of the cars as they came around the track.

We took the kids outside so they could hear the engine's...it was very loud and they were ready to head back in pretty quickly - not sure the realized everyone doesn't have the luxury of air condition, food, drinks and a roof in the event of rain when they come to a race. :)

Sunday our friends called for a impromptu get together at their house and we had such a wonderful time. The kids love going there and it was such a nice, relaxing day!!!

Monday the rain came so it was movie day for us. We pretty much hung around the house all day and chilled.

For our family, having a weekend like this is rare...we are very busy most of the time. It was the perfect long weekend with lots of time spent on what is truly most important...the 4 of us.
